How this table is calculated

Blockrise uses CoinGecko’s bitcoin historical endpoint for the date shown. The source returned €74,525.49 and $87,575.05 for 1 January 2026. This page rounds each value to the nearest whole currency unit for readability.

A historical reference value is not a live quote. It may differ from the price on a specific exchange, the price at a particular time of day or the price paid in a transaction.

Which 1 January value belongs in a Dutch tax return?

For private holdings, the Belastingdienst states that crypto assets are reported in box 3 at their value in economic circulation on 1 January, the reference date. It also refers to the rate on the platform used on that date.

Keep records of your own balance, platform statement and valuation method. The right value can depend on the tax year and the facts of your situation. This page provides general information only. It is not personal tax advice.

Read the Bitcoin tax guide for the wider Dutch context.
